Ziegler ZP | Extended Rings
Getting a comfortable eye relief plays a big part in your mounting set up. It can be a pain to have to stretch you neck forward in order to align up with your scope. To counter this, you will need to bring the scope backwards, which sometimes isn't possible. As the Ziegler Hook and Lock Bases can only be located on your rifle in a certain position, this means the rings can only be located in a certain position, so the scope's objective bell interferes with the ring attachment.
As you can see below there are two mounting set ups. The top one shows a standard ring set up where the standard ring bases are used. But the set up underneath shows the scope has been moved backwards so now the standard ring set up would interfere with the objective bell. The method to relieve this is to use an extended ring base.
You can specify whether you require extended ring bases upon ordering as every mounting set up is different. There are many rifle and scope combinations to consider, we can offer assistance if needed but only you will know what your eye relief.
